Commond mode chokes in THT technology offer greater reliability in contacting due to the through-hole plating or physical contact with the PCB. The assembly process is less complex due to the size and simpler handling of THT current-compensated chokes, but only offers a limited component density.
Furthermore, commond mode chokes can handle higher current and voltage levels than THT components, making them more suitable for high-power applications.
