Integrated connection technology
More freedom for development
With integrated connection technology, PTR HARTMANN is presenting a new concept for electrical contacting. Thanks to this innovative and flexible solution, electrical contacts can be incorporated directly in insulating material housings, which makes them an integrative component part of the terminal.
This creates freedom for more design opportunities and also saves time and cost. A single continuous metal part provides considerable advantages for the contact resistances and mechanical reliability. For selection of the technology which connects the wire, the tried-and-tested screw technology, or also the time-saving push-in technology, are available. In the past, the design of PCB connection technology also determined the design of the terminal. This is not the case with integrated connection technology, because the design can be adapted individually to meet the requirements of the application.
The PTR DIN rail housing with 6.2 mm and 17.5 mm installation width (INS250, INS260 INM260 series) show the options which integrated connection technology offers.
The simple trapezoidal design of the PCB allows maximum usage. For optical signal relaying, prisms can be employed when SMD-LEDs are used. Thumb wheel or slide switches – both are included in PTR HARTMANN’s product range – or USB connections can be integrated.
The contacts and the PCB are embedded in a modern-design, very compact DIN rail housing. The uniform shape and bridging capability of all the poles – even between push-in and screw technologies – ensure that the IN series offers maximum compatibility. The product range is completed with a laser-markable plastic which complies with UL94 V0 and NFF 16-101/102 I2F2. Individual marking is possible with up to 4 labelling clips. In addition to the standard 6.2 mm installation width with six connections, a variant with an installation width of 17.5 mm and twelve connections is also available. In this case two PCBs can be installed which are connected using suitable contacts, e.g. PTR HARTMANN SMD interface pin blocks.
By working together with PTR HARTMANN, customers can develop their own individual solution, or alternatively take advantage of the existing housings which are equipped complete with integrated connection technology.
